UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 24 — Over the past day, Russian forces attacked five settlements of the Kharkiv region. There were no casualties, reported the governor Oleh Syniehubov.
The Russians attacked the region with one glide bomb, 11 Geran-2, and two Lancet drones.
The attacks destroyed or damaged power networks and railway infrastructure in the Lozova district.
Ukrainian Railways reported that on Oct. 24, trains to Lozova are running on a changed route with delays because of Russian attacks.
Also, Russian forces attacked the grain cleaning complex of the “Zoria” farming business in the Kharkiv region. As a result of fires after the attack, the atmosphere was polluted, causing damage to the surrounding natural environment.
The state environmental inspectorate of Ukraine reported that the damage caused to the environment as a result of this incident amounts to at least $570.
State Specialized Forest Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” reported that, over eight months of 2025, 60% of all forest fires in Ukraine occurred in the Kharkiv region, mostly in the Izium forestry district, including the Izium, Kupiansk, and Vovchansk forestry enterprises.
“90% of the territory is mined, which makes firefighting extremely difficult. Russian glide bombs, missiles, and drones constantly hit the forests,” said the organisation.
