UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jan. 13 — In the night of Jan. 13, Russian forces attacked a Nova Poshta post service terminal in Novyi Korotych settlement of the Kharkiv oblast, killing four and injuring six people.
Gwara Media journalists were at the impact site to document the consequences of the Russian attack.
The press service of Nova Poshta said that all the killed people were their workers: a 37-year-old Viktor Parkhomenko, a 34-year-old Taras Vovk, a 39-year-old Yevhenii Yermakov, and a 23-year-old Dmytro Zakharov.
The Nova Poshta also added that among the killed workers were two sorting center employees and two drivers.
Rescuers saved 30 people, two of whom they pulled from under the rubble of the destroyed building, said the State Emergency Service of the Kharkiv region.
The Russian attack caused multiple l fires covering a total area of 500 square meters, destroyed buildings and the terminal, and burned trucks parked on the territory, said Yevhen Vasylenko, a spokesman for Kharkiv’s State Emergency Service, during the national telethon.
Russians launched two Iskander missiles, then they attacked the post service terminal with four Geran-2 drones, reported the Kharkiv Prosecutor’s Office.
“This is not the first attack (on the post service terminal in Novyi Korotych). This is the fourth time Russia has attacked the Nova Poshta, effectively destroying it,” said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region.
On Oct. 21, 2023, Russian forces attacked the Nova Poshta terminal in Novyi Korotych with two missiles, killing six and injuring 16 people.
Over the past day, Russian forces also attacked Kharkiv and seven settlements of the region with one glide bomb and 35 drones of different types, said Syniehubov.
In Kharkiv, a Russian attack damaged a building of the children’s health center and a car.
In the Bohodukhiv district, Russians damaged houses, power networks, and a car of the State Emergency Service, injuring two women aged 34 and 56.
In the Kupiansk district, they damaged a house, injuring a 74-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man.
Russians also damaged a house in the Izium district and a filling station and cars in the Kharkiv district.
