UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 23 — An 11-year-old boy was injured in the village of Riasne, Zolochiv community in the Kharkiv region, by a Russian drone explosion, said Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast Governor. He added that the child suffered a concussion and is in the hospital.

Russians launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region on May 10. Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast, especially border settlements, came under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine has killed 546 and injured more than 1,341 children.

In the Kharkiv oblast, the Russian aggression has affected 373 children. 

The Kharkiv Oblast is the second among Ukrainian regions in terms of the number of children affected by the war. Most children were killed or injured in the Donetsk region — 531. Evacuation is currently underway in the region. Volunteers and rescuers evacuated 10,980 people from the border communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
