UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 27 — On August 26, the Russian army attacked the village of Kopanka in the Donets community of Izium district, killing a 41-year-old man and injuring a 32-year-old man, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

Also, at about 11:43 p.m., the Russian military hit an infrastructure facility in the village of Andriivka, Donets community, with an Iskander missile. The missile attack injured four people and damaged buildings and three cars. 

Another Russian strike hit the village of Hlazunivka. They hit the ground in an open area, damaging the fence of an enterprise.

In addition, fragments of a Russian munition damaged an infrastructure facility in the village of Pershotravneve, Krasnohrad community.

In the village of Bohuslavka in the Borova community, Russian shelling damaged four houses and a car.

In the Bohodukhiv district, Russia attacked three villages in the Zolochiv community. The Russians caused a house in Svitlychne village to catch fire. They also damaged a fence and a truck in Oleksandrivka village and a house in Postolne village.

Russian shelling also damaged one more house in Kozacha Lopan in the Derhachi community of the Kharkiv district.

The Russian army also struck Kharkiv, Oleksiivka village in Lozova district, and the villages of Nechvolodivka, Ustynivka, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, and the city of Kupiansk in the Kupiansk district.

According to the State Emergency Service, the Russian attacks caused 12 fires in the Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv, Izium, and Lozova districts of the Kharkiv region and the Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv during the day. Civilian infrastructure facilities, homes, outbuildings, and ecosystems burned over a total area of about 16 hectares.

  • At about 1:00 p.m., the Russian army attacked the village of Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv region with artillery, hitting a building of village council and trapping three people under the rubble, Oleksandr Kulik, a spokesman for the Derhachi City Council, told Gwara Media.
