UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 9 — During the past day, Russian attacks injured five people in the Kharkiv region, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast.
Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.
This morning, Russian troops shelled Slobozhanske in the Lyptsi community, injuring a 46-year-old man, Syniehubov said.
Tonight, Russians attacked Kupiansk, injuring a 44-year-old man. Yesterday evening, on August 8, the Russians shelled the town from multiple rocket launchers, injuring a 57-year-old woman and two men, 45 and 44.
In addition, Russians shelled Borova in the Izium district, destroying one house and damaging three houses and one two-story apartment building.
In the Kupiansk district, the Russian shelling caused a two-story shop to catch fire. In Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, the roof of a house was burning because of the Russian shelling.
On August 7, Oleh Syniehubov said that the Russians are now dropping fewer glide bombs (KABs) on the Kharkiv region than they used to.
