UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct 3 — In September, Russian attacks in Kharkiv damaged 339 residential buildings, reported the Kharkiv City Council’s Department of Housing and Communal Services.

Russian army attacks Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, often because it’s close to the border and the frontline. Their attacks intensified significantly since Moscow launched a new ground offensive north of the Kharkiv region in May. 

Last month, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv 15 times, damaging residential buildings.

“As a result [of the attacks], more than 4,400 windows in apartmentsanother 2,300 windows in public places were smashed,” the Department of Housing and Communal Services reported.

During the month, the city workers boarded about 6,400 windows of different types. In addition, the Russians damaged 1,100 balcony windows. Of these, 888 have already been closed. Specialists have also repaired 52 out of 88 damaged roofs of residential buildings.

Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast, reported that on the evening of October 2, Russian troops dropped glide bombs (KABs) on Kharkiv, injuring 12 people, including a child. One of the bombs hit a residential high-rise building in the Saltivskyi district of the city between the third and fourth floors.
