UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 7 — On the evening of August 6, Russian troops shelled the village of Ivashky in the Zolochiv community, damaging a three-story residential building. The shelling also caused an apartment to catch fire, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast.

Kharkiv Oblast comes under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

In Kupiansk, the shelling caused an outbuilding, a summer kitchen, and a residential building to catch fire, Syniehubov said.

The State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region reported that rescuers put out 147 fires in the Kharkiv region over the past week, including 16 caused by Russian shelling.

According to firefighters, more than 75 hectares of land have been burned. They say that 14 out of 147 fires are forest fires.
