UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 22 — In the morning, Russian troops attacked the center of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, injuring seven people, reported Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast Governor.
The Russian attack injured seven people: a 28-year-old man and women aged 22, 55, 65, and 77.
Later, Syniehubov said that the Russians also injured a 41-year-old woman. She is in the hospital. A 42-year-old woman also sought medical care. Both have moderate injuries. The attack also damaged a kindergarten. Law enforcement agencies are still determining the type of weapon the Russians attacked with.
Border towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast came under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions on May 10.
The press service of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that at around 4 a.m., on May 21, Russian forces shelled Bohuslavka of the Borova community in the Izium district, damaging a private house. No casualties have been reported as of yet.
The same day, at around 10 a.m., the Russian army shelled Lyptsi, Kharkiv district, with artillery, damaging outbuildings and a residential building.
Evacuation is currently underway in the region. According to Oleh Syniehubov, volunteers, and rescuers evacuated 10,875 people from the border communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
