UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct 8 — At about 10:40 a.m., Russians launched an air attack on Kharkiv, damaging a civilian facility and injuring 28 people, including a 16-year-old boy, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast.

Russian army attacks Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, often because it’s close to the border and the frontline. Their attacks intensified significantly since Moscow launched a new ground offensive north of the Kharkiv region in May. 

Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that there was no air raid alert during this  attack on Kharkiv. 

Oleh Syniehubov said that three injured are in the hospital with severe injuries. Sixteen people have moderate injuries, and the rest have light injuries. 

The type of munition the Russians used to attack the city is not yet known. 

The UN reported that between June 1 and August 31, the Russian aggression against Ukraine killed 589 civilians and injured 2,685 others. This is 45% more casualties than in the spring.
