UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 20 — Russia shelled positions of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in the Kharkiv region 405 times, wrote “Kharkiv” group of forces in their morning report.
Russians advance into Kharkiv Oblast from two sides, northern and southeastern. The “Kharkiv” group of forces is responsible for defending the region in the north, operating on what’s called the Kharkiv axis or Kharkiv direction. Russia launched a ground offensive there on May 10, 2024.
“Kharkiv” also said that, during the past day, three combat clashes occurred in the Kharkiv direction. Russia lost 92 troops and 74 military equipment units, including eight artillery systems, nine vehicles, three special equipment units, and 54 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs.)
According to “Kharkiv,” in the Kharkiv direction, Russians are focused on regrouping, optimizing their supply chains, and adding to their ammunition reserves.
Russians also attacked districts of Vovchansk that are close to the aggregate plant, which was reportedly taken back by the Ukrainian military, “Kharkiv” said.
On September 19, “Kharkiv” reported that Russia mined dams in Belgorod Oblast, either in preparation for the possible Ukrainian offensive into Russia or for organizing false-flag operations.
