UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun 4 — Russia killed 96 children and injured 526 in Kharkiv Oblast during the full-scale invasion, wrote Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region, in his Telegram channel.
Today, on the International Day of Innocent Victims of Aggression, Ukraine commemorates the children killed by the Russian war.
During the full-scale Russian invasion, Russia killed 631 children and injured 1,971 people in Ukraine, according to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
“We should do everything so that no child becomes the victim of the war. We’re holding the line and fighting for our future,” Oleh Syniehubov said.
Ukraine opened court proceedings against 70 Russian soldiers accused of war crimes specifically against children, with 34 of them having received a verdict.
