As of today, 77 hospitals are destroyed in Kharkiv, said Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, during the Forum of Mayors in Geneva, Switzerland.
“We’ve counted the damages Russians caused to our city—they amount to $9.5 billion. Critical infrastructure is ruined. TECs [combined heat and power stations (CHPs) – editor’s note], boiler houses, water pipes, fuel lines — all of it is in shambles. Also, 50% of schools and 50% of kindergartens are destroyed. The entirety of 77 hospitals no longer exist in Kharkiv,” Terekhov stated.
Because of the Russian full-scale invasion, 345 medical facilities were damaged or ruined in Kharkiv.
Since February 24, the Russian army damaged 1381 medical facilities in Ukraine. 184 of those are completely ruined. Kharkiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Mykolaiiv, and Kyiv oblasts are the ones where medical infrastructure suffered the most.
