UKRAINE, KHARKIV, June 27 — Russian military attacked Kharkiv’s residential area at about 5:50 p.m., injuring at least four people, according to Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv Oblast. 

Russia attacks Kharkiv region and Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city that’s 19 miles from the border, often since the start of the full-scale invasion, targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. The attacks have intensified since Russia started its new offensive north of the region in May 2024.

The Russian attack damaged houses and a dormitory of one of the Kharkiv higher education institutions, said Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. Previously, he wrote a higher education institution was damaged, but later corrected himself. 

Among four people injured in the Russian attack, three people had an acute stress reaction, and one man got an explosive injury to his leg. 

The police and other emergency services are working at the impact site. The type of weapon Russia has used is being determined. 

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address on June 22 that since the beginning of June, Russia has dropped more than 2,400 glide bombs on Ukraine, hitting the Kharkiv region with about 700 of them.
