UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 15 — Over the past day, Russian troops attacked five settlements in Kharkiv, Izium, and Kupiansk districts of the region, killing 4 and injuring 2 people, reported Oleh Syniehubov, the governor.

In July, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine recorded 286 killed and 1,388 injured casualties in the Russia-Ukraine war — the highest number since May 2022.

In the Derhachi community, Russian troops targeted two villages, damaging two houses. Syniehubov said these attacks killed a 64-year-old and a 38-year-old man and injured a 38-year-old man.

In the Kupiansk district, Russians killed a 69-year-old man and a woman of the same age and injured a 76-year-old woman. The Russian attacks damaged houses and a car.

In the Izium district, Russians damaged a garage, two cars, a tractor, and a vegetable storage.

Syniehubov noted over the day, Russian troops launched one guided aerial bomb and four attack drones on Kharkiv Oblast.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Security Service reported that a Russian soldier captured in Ukraine has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of two civilians near Kupiansk.
