UKRAINE, May 20 — The Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine has killed 546 and injured more than 1,341 children, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General.
In the Kharkiv oblast, the Russian aggression has affected 373 children. The Kharkiv Oblast is the second among Ukrainian regions in terms of the number of children affected by the war. Most children were killed or injured in the Donetsk region — 531.
On May 18, a Russian shelling of Kharkiv injured a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy. On May 19, a Russian double-tap missile attack injured an eight-year-old girl in the village of Cherkaska Lozova in the Kharkiv region.
In total, a Russian double-tap missile attack killed six people at a recreation center in Cherkaska Lozova. Among the people killed was a 7-month pregnant woman.
Evacuation is currently underway in the region as the Russians launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region on May 10. Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast, especially border settlements, came under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes.
According to Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov, police, volunteers, and rescuers evacuated 10,573 people from the border communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
