On November 9, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the budget for 2024.
According to the national budget 2024, 50% of expenses will be allocated for defense and security of Ukraine. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“There will be even more weapons and equipment, drones, ammunition, missiles. Every hryvnia of taxpayers will go to the army,” he said in a statement.
According to Shmyhal, the budget also includes pension indexation and an increase in the minimum wage. Spending on education and healthcare will increase by more than UAH 20 billion / $550 million each. Business support will increase by UAH 40 billion / $1 billion 109 million.
Ukrainian parliament adopted in the second reading and in general the draft law No. 10000 “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024” with a revenue part of UAH 1.768 trillion / $49 billion and expenses of UAH 3.35 trillion / $93 billion.
