UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 13 — On August 12, police evacuated 26 people from Vovchansk and the Zolochiv communities, including 13 children, reported the police press service.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast, added that 55 people, including 46 adults and nine children, had been evacuated over the past day.

The mandatory evacuation of children with their parents or other legal representatives from 38 settlements in Bohodukhiv, Izium, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk districts began in July.

Since then, 144 children have been evacuated, including 41 from the Borova community, 20 from Kindrashivka, 73 from Vovchansk, and 10 from Zolochiv communities.

The Relief Coordination Center reported that they have evacuated 4,433 people since the start of the Russian offensive in the northern Kharkiv region on May 10.

Of the 4,433 people, 931 are people with disabilities, and 443 are children. 4,709 people left on their own. The majority have been evacuated from Vovchansk and Lyptsi communities.
