UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST,  Nov. 25 — As of Nov. 11, 2,069 people are staying on the left bank of Oskil river, said the Kharkiv Military Administration in a response to Gwara Media’s official inquiry.

The Kharkiv Military Administration said that there are no people in the Dvorichna community. In the Kupiansk community, 642 people, in the Kurylivka community — 491 people, in the Petropavlivka community — 45 people, and in the Borova community — 891 people are living on the left bank of Oskil.

Oskil is a river in the east of the Kharkiv oblast, flowing from the Russian border to Izium. According to the map of the OSINT war tracking project DeepState, which shows the current situation on the front line, the line of contact runs along the Oskil river.

Local officials also said that they are conducting evacuation in these communities. Over 6,000 civilians have been evacuated from this area since the beginning of 2025.

The Russian army has been trying to cross the Oskil River since Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Kharkiv Oblast in the autumn of 2022. Last spring, they have managed to cross the Oskil near Dvorichna, which they occupied later in the summer.

This year, Russian troops also reached the northern outskirts of Kupiansk on the right bank and pushed into the city itself. Countersabotage operation is still underway there.

On Nov. 20, Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian forces, claimed that Russian troops occupied Kupainsk. The Ukrainian Armed Forces denied these claims.
