UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, July 1 — On June 29 and 30, Russian military artillery destroyed three houses in the village of Baranivka in the Kharkiv region, reported Viktor Kovalenko, head of the Zolochiv village military administration.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

The Russian shelling caused a power outage in the village. Power engineers are working to restore it.

The village is located in the Zolochiv community of the Bohodukhiv district in the Kharkiv region. As of today, 47 residents live in the village, and there were more than 300 residents before the Russian full-scale invasion. Baranivka also came under mortar attack on June 25. The Russians damaged two houses and power lines.

Viktor Kovalenko said that the local authorities of the Zolochiv community called for a mandatory evacuation of children due to a possible Russian army offensive.

Viktor Kovalenko noted that all children had been evacuated from the border villages of Ivashky and Tymofiivka in the Zolochiv community, Kharkiv region. In total, the authorities plan to evacuate 1,740 people from the border districts of the Zolochiv community.
