On the night of Monday, Russian occupants shelled the center of Kharkiv.
Details
- Around 23:00, an S-300 missile hit a four-story building on Myronosytska Street;
- The roof and upper floors of the building were destroyed and a large-scale fire broke out;
- An 85-year-old woman died, her husband was nearby at the time of the hit and was fortunately not seriously injured;
- As of 12:50 p.m., the body of a dead woman has not been removed, rescuers continue to clear the rubble, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv State Emergency Service Anatolii Toryanyk said;
- Three other residents of the building got injured;
- Residents of the house hit by the missile have been evacuated;
State Emergency Service specialists are inspecting neighboring houses that may have been damaged; - The building will be examined in the near future and a decision will be made on whether it can be restored or finally demolished;
- All the victims will be provided with temporary housing if necessary.
“We have to cut off electricity, heat, water and gas. We will make sure that people in other blocks of flats have heating,” Kharkiv City Mayor Ihor Terekhov said at the location of the incident.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, added the fire was extinguished at 3:20 a.m., but rescue efforts are still underway.
