UKRAINE, Apr 29 — In 2024, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine approved more than 330 models of Ukrainian-made drones to use on the frontline. In 2023, only 75 domestic drone models were cleared to be used in the military.
Ukraine started to develop military technologies to respond to Russia’s quantitative superiority in personnel and military equipment.
“We made a significant breakthrough. More than 95% of drones used in the frontline are Ukrainian-made,” said Valerii Churkin, deputy Minister of Defence.
He stressed that the more new war technologies there are, the more opportunities Ukraine’s army has on the frontline. Also, he said that the main focus should be on developing cheap and effective weapons.
“We have to cause large-scale losses for the enemy with lower cost,” said Churkin.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine’s defense industry works at 60% of its capacity because of the lack of finances and encouraged Europeans to invest in Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
