UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, July 29 — Russian troops have concentrated their military efforts in the Kharkiv region near Lyptsi, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Krasne, and Vovchansk, said Vitalii Sarantsev, a spokesman for the “Kharkiv” group of forces, on Ukrainian TV.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

Vitalii Sarantsev emphasized that these are the towns and villages Russians attack the most often. He called the situation in Vovchansk “quite difficult.” However, according to him, the Ukrainian army is also responding to Russia’s attacks

“If the enemy uses glide bombs (KABs), we use high-precision technologies with artificial intelligence, long-range surveillance, and electronic warfare to destroy the enemy’s drones. With the help of remote reconnaissance, we can detect the enemy’s movements in advance and destroy their manpower,” Sarantsev said.

According to him, the Russians constantly try to change their tactics. They also look for new ways to bypass the positions of the Defense Forces, involving frontal attacks and small assault groups.

The press service of the “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that the Russian army attacked Hlyboke and Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction and increased aerial reconnaissance operations via unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day. They are also reinforcing their security posts near Sotnytskyi Kozachok.

According to the military, Russians are preparing for an offensive near Hlyboke involving assault groups. They are replenishing supplies, trying to replace units that suffered personnel losses, and researching possible routes of advance. Russian soldiers also rotate units near the village of Hatyshche.
