UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 15 — Russian troops intensified their offensive near Lyptsi, a village north of Kharkiv, said Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesperson of the Operational Tactical Group “Kharkiv,” during a national telethon.
On May 8, the 13th National Guard Brigade “Khartia” and the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade reported that it liberated over 200 hectares of forest territory north of Lyptsi.
Shamshin considered Russia’s escalation in this direction a reaction to Ukraine’s advancement — their troops attacked Ukrainian positions near the village with armored vehicles and motorcycles.
“I can say that we destroyed armored vehicles and motorcycles. The infantry has rushed in, and now our units are destroying these groups. In general, the intensity of attacks increased,” said Shamshin.
On Kharkiv Oblast, Russians assaulted Ukrainian positions four times over the past day. In the Kharkiv direction, the General Staff recorded three attacks near Vovchansk and Kamianka. One attack occurred in the Kupiansk direction. The Ukrainian forces successfully repelled the Russian assault near Hlushkivka.
