UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Nov 22 – Over the past day, the Russian army lost 70 troops in the Kharkiv direction and 21 units of weapons and military equipment, including one tank, five armored combat vehicles, three cars, one anti-tank vehicle, one unit of special equipment, and ten drones, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

Russians fired 261 times at Ukrainian positions in the Kharkiv direction over the day, launching one missile attack and 13 kamikaze drone strikes, “Kharkiv” reports.

Yevhen Romanov, a spokesman for the “Kharkiv” group of forces, said that the Russian army has not been successful in this direction despite their attempts to advance.

“The Ukrainian military did not move from their positions,” Romanov said.

Answering a question about the Russians’ plans in the Kharkiv direction, the spokesman said that the main goal remains to advance to the city of Kharkiv.
