UKRAINE, Apr 1 — Russia received a new batch of military equipment, e.g., Shahed drones, from Iran, reported the spokeswoman of Southern Command, Natalia Humeniuk, in the ether of a telethon.
Humeniuk said that Russia has already established the manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on its territory and marks the drones with specific symbols used by the Russian army only.
According to Humeniuk, Russians keep collecting intelligence for future drone and missile strikes on Ukraine and accumulating weapons for that.
“Recently, [we] observed a cargo aircraft flight from Tehran to Moscow. That means they [received] both ready-[to-be-used] Shahed drones and the components for them as the adversary continues to construct these UAVs on their territory,” Humeniuk said.
Last year, Iranian manufacturers released a black Shahed that’s harder to discover for air-defense forces.
