UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Sep 18 — At about 11:53 p.m., Russians dropped glide bombs (KABs) on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. There was no information about casualties. The attack caused a fire at the hit site, reported Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Russian army attacks Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, often because it’s close to the border and the frontline. Their attacks intensified significantly since Moscow launched a new ground offensive north of the Kharkiv region in May.

At around 4:50 a.m., citizens heard several explosions in Kharkiv again. Ihor Terekhov reported that the Russians had attacked the city again using three glide bombs.

Terekhov said that the first KAB hit between a kindergarten and an underground school in the Industrialnyi district. There was no information about casualties.

The second glide bomb hit near the depot in the Saltivskyi district, smashing windows in houses. There were no casualties. According to Terekhov, the third KAB hit in the suburbs.

In Kharkiv, there are three underground schools that protect students from Russian attacks, ensuring education continues safely despite Russian attacks.

On April 2, Ihor Terekhov announced that the construction of the first underground school had been completed in the city. It has 20 classrooms and can accommodate 900 students studying in two shifts.
