UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jan. 16 — V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University suffered significant infrastructure damage of $278 million because of the Russian full-scale invasion, the university’s press service told Gwara Media.
The university said that Russian attacks damaged 39 infrastructure objects, including 8 study corps, 9 dormitories, and other buildings of the university’s complex.
Russians damaged roofs and facades of buildings, smashed windows and doors, and ruined internal engineering communications.
According to the university’s press service, the damage to the material and technical base exceeds $104 million. The ecological damage exceeds $174 million.
However, the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University said that it continues its educational and scientific work.
Earlier, Valerii Miasoiedov, rector of the Kharkiv National Medical University, told Gwara Media that Russian attacks have caused $1.6 million worth of damage to the university since the start of the full-scale invasion.
