UKRAINE, Aug 14 — In July alone, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine recorded that Russia killed 286 and injured 1,388 Ukrainians during the Russia-Ukraine war. It is the biggest number since May 2022.

Earlier, Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Russia launched 103 air attacks on Kharkiv, killing one person and injuring 164 people, including 20 children, in July.

Russian aerial bombs killed 67 killed and 209 injured in July, compared with 34 killed and 80 injured in June.

Most of the increase between June and July took place in Ukrainian-controlled frontline zones, underscoring Russia’s intensified push for territorial gains.

Russian air attacks and landmines killed or injured Ukrainian civilians across 18 regions.

The main threat for Ukraine in July remains attacks with long-range missiles and drones, causing almost 40% of all civilian casualties, including in large cities like  Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

Short-range drones were the second leading threat for civilians, accounting for 24% of the casualties (64 killed and 337 injured).

Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, the General Prosecutor’s Office recorded 372 cases of conflict-related sexual violence by Russian soldiers in Ukraine, including 46 in Kharkiv Oblast.
