UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct 21 — On the evening of October 20, around 10:00 p.m., Russian troops launched airstrikes on the city of Kharkiv, injuring at least 13, including a child and a pregnant woman. The strikes cut off power to part of the city.
The Russian army often attacks Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, because it’s close to the border and the frontline. Their attacks intensified significantly since Moscow launched a new ground offensive north of the Kharkiv region in May.
There is information that the Russian military used a FAB-250 UMPK glide bomb to attack the city.
“Unfortunately, Kharkiv is under fire again. There are two hit sites [Osnovianskyi and Kyivskyi districts – ed.]. There are injured, including a child, a boy,” said Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov
In total, the Russian attack damaged 47 residential buildings, including 14 private ones.
Dmytro Chubenko, spokesman for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that the victims suffered head injuries, fractures, and an acute stress reaction. In total, the Russians launched four bombs, two of which fell in the region.
The Prosecutor’s Office also added that the Russians also dropped a glide bomb (KAB) on a private residential area in Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district, destroying one house and damaging a gas station, commercial real estate, and several other private households.
