UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Nov 6 – Around 5 p.m. on November 5, the Russian army attacked the city of Kharkiv with a Shahed kamikaze drone, damaging a five-story apartment building and nearby cars and injuring three people.

The Russian army has been often attacking Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, since the start of the full-scale invasion — the city is close to the border and the frontline. Russians use various weapons like glide bombs, strike drones, and missiles to target civilian and critical infrastructure.

“I had a physics lesson [online], and suddenly I heard a whistle and an explosion. It was very loud. I then moved away from the windows into the hall and called my parents,” 14-year-old school student Oleksandr Kyrychenko, who moved to Kharkiv from Vovchansk with his family, told Gwara Media.

“My child was alone at home. As soon as he called, I immediately ran home from work,” says Natalia Kyrychenko, Oleksandr’s mother.
