KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, May 3 — Russian troops bombed the town of Derhachi in Kharkiv Oblast. The attack injured nine people, including eight children.
Around 4:00 p.m. on May 2, Russian troops hit Derhachi, Kharkiv district, with two guided aerial bombs. One bomb hit the ground, and the other hit a sports complex where children were playing. A total of eight children and one elderly man were injured in the Russian strike.
“The Russian shelling injured two 11-year-olds, two 12-year-olds, and two children aged 13 and 15. They have moderate injuries. One boy also had an acute stress reaction, and another boy was diagnosed with minor injuries but didn’t require hospitalization. A 75-year-old man also suffered due to the attack. He was treated at the hit site,” said the Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Emergency services are working at the site, and builders have also arrived to help the owners of damaged private houses, cover windows and roofs and fix the damage caused by the Russian attack, said Viacheslav Zadorenko, head of the city’s administration.
“You can see that the Russian Federation hit private houses where civilians live. There are no military facilities here. The Russian Federation is simply creating panic among the local population by terrorizing them with strikes,” commented Zadorenko.
Victoria, the injured boy’s mother, tells about the attack on Derhachi. The woman was at work then, and her grandmother and child stayed home. The explosive blast from the air bomb damaged their house, shattered windows, and injured the child’s legs.
