UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, Sep 18 — Mandatory evacuation of civilians from some settlements of the Borova community, which are located near the frontline and are under constant shelling by the Russian Federation will be announced soon, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast, on Ukrainian TV.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

The Borova community is approximately 50-60 miles from the Russian border and about 75-80 miles from Kharkiv.

According to Syniehubov, the situation on the frontline in the Izium district has been stabilized, but the Russian troops have intensified shelling of civilian infrastructure.

This security situation, Syniehubov said, makes it necessary to consider the possibility of mandatory evacuation of civilians from some settlements.

Also, Syniehubov said five families with children in Kupiansk need evacuation.

“Five families with children are still in Kupiansk. I expect we will take them out of that area in a day or two. Taking into account the three communities [Kurylivka, Kindrashivka, and Kupiansk communities — ed.] where we have been carrying out mandatory evacuation of families with children, we have evacuated 200 such families in a month,” he said.

There are still 75 families with children in these three communities. Oleh Syniehubov says they will all be evacuated in one or two weeks.
