UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 14 — In Kharkiv, air raids alerts have become more frequent but shorter. According to Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast, all the changes in air raid alerts are due to the situation in the region, reported Suspilne.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

“Air raids alerts are completely dependent on  activity of enemy’s aviation, so the only approach that can change the situation with them is the effective work of our Armed Forces, which includes strengthening our air defense of our region. These are the tasks that the president has set for our military. Therefore, all the changes that we have and will have in the near future are related to the military,” Syniehubov said.

Oleh Syniehubov said that on August 13, the Russian army shelled Kozacha Lopan, a village in the Kharkiv district. The shelling damaged the premises of a pharmacy.

In addition, on the same day, the Russian drone attack damaged the territory of the warehouse building in Kupiansk. Later, the Russians also damaged a house in the city.
