UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul 26 — There were 10 combat clashes in the Kupiansk direction over the past day, from July 25 to July 26, reported the General Staff.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The General Staff reported that the combat were near Stelmakhivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Synkivka.

In the Kharkiv direction, there were nine attacks over the day. Ukraine’s army repelled Russian assaults near Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and Tykhe, according to the report.

Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the Guardian published on July 24, said that as of 2024, the Russian army has twice as much equipment as Ukraine, but despite this, Ukraine stopped the new Russian offensive on Kharkiv.

According to Syrskyi, the Russian units engaged in the Russian-Ukrainian war now include 520,000 people, and they plan to increase this number to 690,000.
