UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul 23 — In the Kharkiv direction, there were ten combat clashes near Hlyboke and Vovchansk over the past day, reported the General Staff reported.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but 

Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

In the Kupiansk direction, there were 13 Russian attacks over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian assaults near Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka, Pishchane, and Berestove, reported the General Staff.

According to the report, the Russians also hit Cherniaky, Vesele, Lyptsi, Mali Prokhody, Hlyboke, Karaichne, and Pytomnyk in the Kharkiv region with air strikes.

The “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that the Russians continued to attack near Hlyboke with assault groups unsuccessfully. They are trying to restore the units that have lost their combat capability.

The “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that Russia is currently preparing assault groups of three brigades for attacks in Vovchansk.
