KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, JAN 4 — During the past day, Russians hit Zolochiv, Morohovets, Pylna, Kolodiazne, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Podoly, Ivanivka, and Berestove of Kharkiv region with airstrikes.
General Staff reports about that in their morning briefing.
On the Kupiansk axis, the Ukrainian army repelled three Russian attacks near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the Russian army maintains a military presence in borderlands, conducts diversions to hold Ukrainian troops to the location, and prevents them from relocating to other directions. They also continue to build up mine-explosive barriers along the border in Belgorod Oblast.
According to Colonel-General Syrskyi, the commander of Ground Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops try to advance near Synkivka of Kupiansk district to seize it and block Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vyzlovyi. Russians used these towns as logistics and transportation hubs during the occupation in 2022.
