UKRAINE, Nov 11 – France plans to transfer 10 more SCALP cruise missiles to Ukraine, announced French Defense Minister Sebastian Le Coronneu in an interview with French Le Journal du Dimanche.

SCALP missiles are air-to-ground missiles designed to destroy stationary targets protected by air defense systems. The operational range of SCALP missiles is almost 348 miles.

Lecornue said that the transfer is supposed to help Ukrainian army defend combat zone and “to enable Ukraine to launch strikes from behind the frontline.”

Sebastian Le Coronneu said that France will also continue training program for 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers who learn how to use French equipment and weapons.

On November 8, the Swiss government reported that it plans to allocate 500 million Swiss francs [over $571 million] to Kharkiv over the next four years to prepare for winter and reconstruction.
