UKRAINE, Apr 16 — In early March, the Kyiv school of public administration named after Serhiy Nyzhnyy created “The wife of veteran”, an educational project for partners and relatives of veterans, prisoners of war, missing and killed soldiers.

Organizers told Gwara journalists that in the first month and a half of the project working, more than 2,000 women from all Ukrainian regions went through the educational program.

The training contains four blocks: psychological, medical, legal, and economic. Organizers focus on topics like bereavement, child support, the effects of stress on women’s health and pregnancy planning, legal tools for veterans’ families, and the theory of starting one’s own business. The project also discusses the reintegration of the soldiers into civilian life and the partners’ role in this process.

In Kharkiv, legal and psychological support to relatives and loved ones of prisoners of war can also be provided in the Eastern Regional Center of POW Coordination Headquarters.
