UKRAINE, Dec 19 — Denmark has allocated more than €281 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, reported the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.

The aid package also includes a financial contribution to the operation of Ukrainian F-16 fighters.

Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway agreed to provide Ukraine with about 80 American-made F-16 jets. Ukraine has been waiting for months to start using them, but delays in the delivery of the aircraft and pilot training have slowed the process.

“One of Ukraine’s most urgent needs right now is the ability to defend itself from Russian airstrikes. That is why we prioritize more support for air defense,” said Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

In addition, in cooperation with Sweden, Denmark will provide Ukraine with CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles.
