UKRAINE, Dec 6 – In 2025, the Ukrainian military will receive 30,000 DeepStrike strike drones capable of operating over long distances. Foreign partners financed some of the drones, announced Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
Drones of various types became essential in the Russian-Ukrainian war after 2022. Ukrainian troops use them to gather intelligence and track Russian movements. They also help increase battlefield awareness and carry out air strikes with high precision.
Rustem Umerov said that these new-generation drones can operate independently over long distances and hit their targets with high accuracy.
Umerov also added that the Defense Ministry increases investments in developing high-tech systems that meet the needs of the frontline, support the defense industry, and create workplaces and develop Ukrainian technologies.
The delivery of these drones is part of the implementation of the Resilience Plan that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented to the Parliament on November 19. It is a continuation of the Victory Plan and contains tasks for Ukraine that would have to “create conditions for the fair end” of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
