UKRAINE, KHARKIV, May 14—Kharkiv municipal enterprise “Saltivske Tramvaine Depo” told Gwara Media that it received six passenger buses from Barcelona in April.
On January 28, Barcelona’s municipal transport company, “TMB,” provided four nonprofit organizations with 16 passenger buses and one truck. TMB pledged to supply 12 of them to Ukraine.
On April 17, Kharkiv municipal enterprise received five passenger buses MAN А22 2005, and one Mercedes-Benz 2006 at the Ukraine-Poland border.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Barcelona reported that buses, each with a capacity of 80 passengers, have been serving public transportation routes in Barcelona and its surrounding areas for over 15 years.
“The purpose of these buses is to ensure the mobility of citizens affected by war, particularly in areas where infrastructure has been damaged. They will enable children and young people to access educational institutions, help transport individuals from dangerous regions to safer locations, assist the wounded, and provide transportation services in larger cities,” the Kharkiv municipal enterprise said.
Saltivske Tramvaine Depo also confirms that they examined all vehicles and it’s ready to use.
