UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 5 — On August 4, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, visited various frontline areas in the Kharkiv region. He talked to the military and awarded them with state awards.
In July alone, Russia seized about 50,7 square kilometers in Kharkiv Oblast. Over the last day, Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian positions nine times north of Kharkiv and nine times on the Kupiansk axis.
On the Vovchansk axis, Zelenskyy met the soldiers of the 17th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 57th Brigade, which is named after Kish Otaman Kost Hordiienko.
“We specifically addressed the issues of drone supply and deployment, recruitment, and direct funding for the brigades. Our warriors in this sector are reporting the participation of mercenaries from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and African countries in the war. We will respond,” said the President.
Zelenskyy also met the military of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ivan Sirko, who operate in Lyptsi. He spoke with the commanders about the defense along their area of responsibility, the training of the soldiers, their morale, and the provision of essential supplies to the units.
On the same day, the President visited one of the medical institutions in Kharkiv where Ukrainian soldiers are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation after being wounded, where he spoke, and awarded defenders and combat medics.
Also, Zelenskyy visited the Litera Youth Hub in Kharkiv, a space based at the regional children’s library. It was created so that young people could continue their development and communicate in person even amid the war.
