UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Mar. 10 — On Mar. 9 at around 9:00 p.m., a Russian Geran-2 drone hit near an apartment building in the Industrialnyi district of Kharkiv, reported the Kharkiv Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the governor Oleh Syniehubov, the attack injured nine people, including two 16-year-old girls.

“The explosion was very powerful, and then I smelled something burning. The smell of the smoke became very strong, and car alarms started going off,” said Iryna, a resident of the damaged apartment building.

The woman adds that the explosion was so powerful that she fell to the floor.

The Russian drone caused a fire. Cars and apartments on the lower floors were burning.

“This is the second time our building has suffered. The children are scared, we are scared, and we can’t sleep at night. Many people are having panic attacks,” said Iryna.

Previously, on the night of Jan. 24, one of the Russian drones hit the top floor of the building in the Industrialnyi district. On Mar. 9, Russia struck the area again. The blast wave blew out the plywood that had been boarding up the windows in Iryna’s apartment after the earlier attack.

“What we repaired after the previous time was blown out again,” said Natalia, another local.

Last time, the blast blew out the door to her apartment and damaged appliances. This time, “it finished off what had only been damaged before,” the woman said.

Natalia herself was not injured because she had time to hide behind a wardrobe in the room.

At the time of the attack, Victor, another resident of the damaged building, was at home with his parents and younger brother. Hearing explosions outside, the family hid in the bathroom. Suddenly, all the windows blew out, the man said.

None of them was injured, but the whole family was very scared, and they temporarily took the younger brother to his grandmother’s house.
