UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 14 — Two emergency medical groups continue to work in Borova and the nearest settlements, despite constant Russian attacks and evacuation of people from the left bank of the community, said Viktor Zabashta, the head of the emergency medical center, to Gwara Media.
Earlier, Olena Klymenko, deputy head of the Borova community, said that they plan to relocate emergency medical personnel from the left bank of the Oskil river because of safety concerns.
Zabashta said that the administration implemented plans to relocate part of the civil services, but this did not affect the work of medics.
“We keep the number of emergency groups there not just for them to be there, despite the threat of Russian attacks. We do it because people live there, and as long as the shelling continues, there is a risk of casualties. We can’t just leave them,” said Zabashta.
At the same time, he said that they constantly monitor the situation and will make decisions on further work depending on security conditions.
Borova is a settlement in eastern Kharkiv oblast, located on the left bank of the Oskil river, 8 kilometres from the frontline. Russians constantly launch airstrikes at the settlement and villages around it.
The administration continues to evacuate civilians from the Borova community. As of mid-October, nearly 300 people are still there.
