UKRAINE, KUPIANSK, Feb. 4 — On Feb. 3, Ukrainian forces took back the positions in Kupiansk, reported DeepState, an OSINT war monitoring group.
Viktor Trehubov, a spokesperson for a military group responsible for the Kharkiv oblast, confirmed this information to Gwara Media.
“It is more of a report on what has already existed before. In fact, all the Russian troops have long been concentrated in one neighborhood north of the center (of Kupiansk — ed.),” said Trehubov.
Since Feb. 2, the DeepState map has shown that the southern part of the city is marked as liberated, while the northern part remains gray.
Up to 50 Russian soldiers remain surrounded by Ukrainian forces north of the center of Kupiansk, said Trehubov to Ukrainian Pravda.
“Several Russians are dying every day under Ukrainian attacks and drone strikes,” Trehubov noted.
A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to make a fake video for Russian propagandistic Telegram channels and social media, bringing the Russian flag to Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi settlement, located 4 kilometers (2,5 miles) from Kupiansk. Ukrainian forces killed the group.
