UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Mar. 16 — Russian vehicles in the rear is the main target of the drone units of the Ukrainian border guard in the northern Kharkiv oblast, said the press officer of the Kharkiv Border Detachment Dmytro Kalnytskyi to Ukrainian media Army Inform. As such, the unit focuses on disruption of Russian logistics.
Recently, the drone units of the Strix rapid operational border response unit destroyed a Russian mortar and its ammunition, a fuel and lubricants storage, a mobile attack unit and its equipment, and a car with electronic warfare.
“If transport or supply routes are destroyed, it becomes much more difficult for Russians to support their units on the front lines,” said Kalnytskyi.
Cars and quad bikes, which Russian forces use to take ammunition and personnel to their positions, are among the main targets of Strix’s drone operators.
Kalnytskyi noted that drone units of the Ukrainian border guard constantly monitor the area, detecting Russian movements, positions, and equipment.
He also added that there are no active Russian assaults in the northern Kharkiv oblast, but Russian troops are monitoring the situation and launching incursions in small infantry groups.
Earlier, the Ukrainian military said that Russia is amassing its forces in the northern Kharkiv oblast as they avoid being targeted by Ukrainian troops who use the advantages of clear skies and better weather.
