UKRAINE, VOVCHANSK, Nov. 27 — Ukrainian forces continue to defend Vovchansk despite Russian claims of capturing the city, said the commander of an unmanned system unit of the 57th Motorized Brigade, callsign Huru.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the press conference on Nov. 27 that Russian forces captured Vovchansk.
According to Huru, infantry units continue to conduct combat missions in this area.
“The situation is difficult. We have to repel Russian assaults every day and every night. However, we continue to work in Vovchansk,” said the commander.
Vovchansk, a city located to the north of Kharkiv, was one of the main targets of a Russian offensive in May 2024. Russian attacks since then completely destroyed the city.
