UKRAINE, DNIPROPETROVSK OBLAST, Feb. 18 — Ukrainian forces pushed Russian troops out of the villages of Vyshneve, Verbove, and Ternove in the Dnipropetrovsk region, DeepState, an OSINT war-monitoring group, reported on Feb 18.

Ukrainian forces regained control of 201 km² (77.6 mi²) of territory, previously occupied by Russia, in five days during the last week, reported AFP analysis of data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

ISW said that these Ukrainian counterattacks are likely leveraging the recent block on Russian forces’ access to Starlink.

According to the analysis, the recaptured territory  is concentrated around 80 kilometres (50 miles) east of Zaporizhzhia, and lies roughly 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the regained territories in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

At the same time, some Ukrainian military denied claims about “recent” Ukrainian advances, saying that there are no offensive actions of an operational-tactical type, and all advances are actually efforts to improve the tactical position of Ukrainian units.

The ISW also reported that Ukrainian forces maintained positions or advanced in the Kupiansk direction.

Geolocated footage published on Feb. 16 shows Ukrainian units advancing along Pershoho Travnia Street in Kupiansk.
