UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, Jul 10 — Fighters of the 3rd separate assault brigade conducted an assault and took Russian troops prisoner using only first-person view (FPV) drones and kamikaze ground robots.

The brigade reported this on their Facebook page, calling the operation “the first confirmed and successful assault with exclusively unmanned platforms.” The date of operation has not been provided, but the brigade said it happened in Kharkiv region.

“Assault robot was already approaching the destroyed dugout when the enemy announced capitulation to avoid being exploded. “Birds” (FPV drones — ed.) led surviving occupiers to our positions and, as per regulations, took them prisoner,” the brigade said.

Ukraine began actively conducting robotized military operations in 2024 – to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and compensate for the lack of troops.

Russians wrote “We want to surrender” on a piece of paper, and the unit, according to the 3rd Assault Brigade’s post, took over their positions and a nearby forest line.
