UKRAINE, Jan. 7 — Ukrainian units receive over 1,500 interceptor drones per day to counter Russian kamikaze drones, said Denys Shmyhal, the minister of defence of Ukraine.
Shmyhal added that Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence in Dec. — Jan. supplied a high average number of interceptor drones to the Ukrainian military, busting units’ ability to counter Russian drones.
Shmyhal also said that interceptor drones are crucial for conserving expensive air defense missiles by using more cost-effective means to destroy Russian drones. He added that they increase the density of counter-drone defense without overloading other air-defense systems and help protect frontline personnel, logistics, and equipment on the frontline.
The DOT-Chain Defense, a weapons marketplace, has become an additional tool for enhancing the capabilities of Ukrainian units. Through this marketplace, the Ukrainian military ordered and received over 7,000 interceptor drones, which allows units to meet urgent needs quickly without waiting for centralized deliveries, said the Minister of Defense.
